【编者按】为筹备校园网英文版编辑工作，高二国际课程班的同学正在练习采访和撰写英文报道。2011年10月26日课毕，该班范连成和沈伊葭两位同学对她们的文学老师Miss Hooper作了一次愉快的访谈，全过程实录整理如下：

范连成&沈伊葭 ：Good afternoon, Miss Hooper.

Miss Hooper: Good afternoon.

范连成: Today, we want to ask you a couple of questions.

Miss Hooper: Sure.

范连成: Ok. First, what do you think of our classmates?

Miss Hooper:（smile） I think all the senior2 students are lovely and very challenging. They are quite creative and willing to learn. I like them very much.

范连成: Now, the second question. Could you talk about your college life?

Miss Hooper: Uhmm, well, I study college as a mature student, which means I wasn’t a teenager. I enjoyed it very much, because I pretty sure that what I wanted to do and had my plans made out. Uhmm, College was a brand new experience that I enjoyed very much.

范连成: Ok, thank you. According to your abroad experience, could you give some suggestions on going to college abroad?

Miss Hooper: Firstly, you need to do your own laundry and ironing, if you live on the campus, Ok? Secondly, you need to buy extras such as favorite shampoos, toothpaste, and other personal care products. Thirdly, books are expensive. You must buy them. What’s more, buying a college-rule spiral notebook for each class. In addition, you should learn to use a calendar or day planner. Uhmm, you also need to get involved with group on campus. Moreover, college is a great time to begin to become the person you want to be. Do some activities you want to do. At last, find out who made an “A” on a test or paper. Then find out what they did differently from you.

沈伊葭：Ok, it’s my turn. Could you give some tips on learning the second language?

Miss Hooper:（smile） It is difficult to learn a second language. You need to immerse yourself in that language. For example, when you go to America, you need to completely immerse in English. But you are not there just now, so you can watch TV, have conversations with any foreigner you see. It is better to see how they pronounce and how they speak in order to pronounce English correctly.

沈伊葭：Could you explain the importance of learning literature to our future life?

Miss Hooper: What is the most important thing of learning literature is when you read any book in English; you learn something about the author, something about their lifestyles. You also learn how they write. That will help you when you write your own essay. You can also learn what is going on in the world and gain more knowledge. The more literature you read, the more knowledge you gain.
