国际班2015级高一学生于上周六、周日两天(5月28日、29日)在南黄海训练营(南通未成年人社会实践基地)开展了以“突破自我,成就团体”为主题的拓展训练活动及生态环保主题的研究性学习。两天的活动结合国际班学生的特点,围绕个性发展、认知改变、和同协作、思维方式等方面精心设计定制,主题丰富,形式多样。在享受活动的过程中学生也获得了自我的成长。

Breakthrough and teamwork: Students of the International Department went to Rudong Minor Social Practice Base

On May 28th, students of the International Department went to Rudong Minor Social Practice Base, Nantong, Jiangsu Province, for an outdoor training aiming at improving students’ practical skills and developing team spirit.
The instructor separated them into three teams: red team, green team and yellow team, which meant there would be some competitions in the following activities.
The first game was a card game in which two series of cards with different design were randomly placed as a Chinese character “米” . Their mission was to pick out one of them in proper order.
The second game was a team game called “Island Survival” in which three teams were separated on three different “islands”(blind island, mute island and treasure island) and their main goal was to reach the treasure island before the other two islands was flooded within 30 minutes.
In the afternoon, students were told to catch lobster and fish for their dinner in a large swimming pool.
Later in the afternoon, students and teachers made dumplings together. Some of the creative students made a large number of dumplings which had strange but innovative shape.
In the evening, three teams were asked to guess the numbers represented by 30 cards and then put the cards in order within 60 seconds. They figured them out with individual logic and discussion between team members.
On the next morning, students went to the river bank to observe birds through telescopes and record what they watched.
Around noon, students were asked to link 9 ropes which were randomly placed in a big hall to form a square shape with their eyes covered by eye patches in 30 minutes.
Later, students had an activity called “A Trust Fall” in which students on the ground needed to catch the student falling from the high platform.
Finally, students played a war game in which 3 teams needed to find the bases of the other two and destroy them.
During these two days, students gained valuable experience and improved themselves through interesting games. And most of all, they have great fun!!!
