2.Students of Class B should master key vocabularies and mainly focus on NO.1&2 skill and TOEFL iBT;

3.Students of Class A&B should have a thorough understanding of the key passages: The secrets of success in school.

Paying attention to key phrases.

Comparing &contrasting;

Organizing ideas using a Venn diagram;

Understanding pronoun reference

Discussing social problems and solutions.

4.Vocabulary-building skills:

Getting meaning from context;

Using suffixes to identify parts of speech and using parts of speech to understand vocabulary;

Recognizing synonyms.

The key points:

To spur students’ interest in reading;

To help them develop right reading habit and good reading skills.

The challenges at the early stage might be:

Some students might be still in the holiday-mode and difficult to stay focused in class and to complete homework after class;

Students may still fear to read a whole page of reading material.

Possible solutions

• The teacher should keep emphasizing that the correct way of learning a second language;
• To have a well-organized plan for the students;
• To require students to make suitable study plans; and guide them to follow it step by step;
• To be strict on students of the standard of class requirement and homework;
• To have a popular teaching methodology and interesting materials to spur students’ interest in reading;
• To use assessment tools ----homework to reinforce learning & to go over it with.
